Greetings!

I believe that I have an distinct advantage in several areas over other computer technicians. My knowledge is based on a long and intensive background in the computer field. My interest and education in the computer field began in high school, where I was the only student to sign up for the advanced programming classes. My technical skills were refined later through college courses. My 3.6 GPA (based on a 4.0) reflects how I excelled in these classes. The three degrees I have attained focus around computers-B.A. Mathematics, B.S. Computer Information Systems, A.S. Engineering. I am currently working towards a Masters degree in Computer Science at the University of Nebraska.

My work experience is also related to my educational background, as I worked for the IT department while enrolled at Union College. Mixed through various points in my life, I have also been self-employed. These contract jobs have never interfered with my classes, part-time work at Union, or later full-time employment. My senior year internship was based in Network/Internet Engineering at Healthcare Management Solutions. Upon graduating, I was hired immediately by HMS for full-time employment. My responsibilities increased exponentially during the 2 ½ years I worked there. I resigned and headed for South Africa, where I settled in as a network architect and Linux administrator. After my first year in the UNL graduate program, Helderberg College requested and paid for another year at their facility in South Africa.

Finally, my desire to steadily enrich my life with new information mirrors a personality that strives for success. I encourage you to research this segment for yourself, as references can give an unbiased confirmation of my work attitude. I should note that my last employer (HMS) was very pleased with the customer evaluation of my performance. Likewise, Helderberg College valued my expertise to the point of requesting a second year and extending my responsibilities from network architecture to also include teaching.

As you can see, working within a wide range of computer and telephone-based fields through my lifetime has given me an advantage. My on-site interaction with the users and other technicians has likewise prepared me to deal with a variety of situations.
